Solo Exhibition at Geauga County Public Library – Bainbridge

My second solo exhibition is taking place in the same setting as the first – a library! Water is My Element is a collection of 11 photographs captured in the various places I’ve lived or traveled.

Water has always been a source of inspiration for me, so I wanted to honor this dynamic element that has brought me so much serenity, wonder, excitement and endless creativity. Until recently, I’ve always lived close to a large body of water. I loved to sit by the coast and watch the waves, the ebb and flow lulling my restless mind into a peaceful reverie where ideas manifested for countless art and design projects.

Now that I live amongst the trees, I find myself craving that expansive, calming energy. So many deeply important memories are linked to the rushing waves or the restful, glass-like surfaces of Lake Erie, Lake Washington, Lake Union, Elliott Bay, the Puget Sound, Green Lake, the Niagara River, Niagara Falls, the North Atlantic Coast, the Celtic Sea, the English Channel, and so many more.

You can view the exhibit at the Geauga County Public Library’s Bainbridge Branch from July through September 2021 (press release).

It feels perfectly right to be sharing my work in another library all these years later.

Here’s an article I found about my solo exhibition at the Lynnwood Library Gallery in Lynnwood, Washington, just north of Seattle.

Annual Juried Exhibition at BAYarts

Twin Flame was accepted into the BAYarts Annual Juried Exhibition. It was displayed along with the amazing work of some of the best artists in Northeast Ohio! Thank you for welcoming me, BAYarts.

I went with a closer crop of the image this time, to see if it would perform better. And it sold! Thank you, kind art patron.

I’m not planning to enter many shows this year for a number of reasons… one being that I want to focus on adding new work to my portfolio. As in, actually focus a lens! It has been far too long since I picked up a camera, and I miss it.

The Art & Self-Care Kits are approaching their 1 year anniversary this May, and there will be a Spring/Summer release. I’ll be starting the process of choosing the new series very soon. You can read more about this small but mighty project here: https://enchantyourday.com

There is a lot going on behind the scenes, as well as some much needed rest and introspection. More news to come!

2021 Calendars

2021 Calendars

Sold Out!

Thank you to all who purchased the 8.5″ x 11″ calendar! I also created a 9.5″ x 17.25″ version which is printed on heavy cardstock and spiralbound.

Looking ahead to 2021, I am putting more and more energy into trying to make it a better year for myself and for others. This will likely be the year we see progress with a vaccine for the virus that has disrupted so many of our lives. This will also be a year of reassembling, and reimagining, our day to day lives, social activities and overall wellbeing.

With that thought, I am excited to announce that 2021 Calendars are now available for pre-order!

NEW This Year…

  • 8.5″ x 11″ (more traditional size wall calendar)
  • Room to write appointments and important notes
  • Short description for each photograph
  • Locally printed by a printing company in my area
  • Lower price! Usually costs go up (especially in the chaos of this year) but I managed to lower the price for you by printing locally and ordering a small batch of calendars up front, instead of printing each calendar after each purchase, like last year.

The Artwork

I chose 13 colorful photographs from my collection that take you on a journey through the glorious Pacific Northwest, the cliffs of ancient Ireland, the wild coast of North Cornwall, and the hidden secret beauties of my Ohio homeland.

It is important for me to support local small businesses whenever I can, so the decision to hire a small but mighty printing company down the road from my home studio was an easy one. They already print my greeting cards, so I knew the quality of the calendars would be exceptional, too.

1st Place – Photography Only Show at Stella’s Art Gallery

All The White Horses IV has won a 1st Place award in the Photography Only-themed juried exhibition at Stella’s Gallery in Downtown Willoughby, Ohio!

Thank you so much to Dani Klein and all the resident artists for welcoming me to Stella’s Art Gallery in 2020.

All The White Horses IV is a photograph from the series of the same name. My husband and I were visiting his family in Ireland last summer when we saw this herd of white horses grazing on the grass in a field beside the road. You can read more and see the full series here.

This framed piece is still available for purchase, currently at the Made Cleveland pop up shop in Coventry Village! All The White Horses II and Twin Flame (pictured) are also still available.
